Glamping at its best. The bed was so comfortable. We stayed in the jungle canopy and had a beautiful outdoor shower, bathroom in the room and the sounds of nature at night put us to sleep. Highly recommend.

An extraordinary stay, with abundant greenery, birds and fresh air surrounding the cabin. If you are a backpacker who are looking for a retreat, this is your stay!

This is probably the most authentic Hawaiian experience you’ll ever have. We are sad we only found this place on our last night of a two week trip to Hawaii. It truly felt as though we were off the beaten path in a tropical setting. We stayed in the Garden Cottage. It was clean and beautiful! Don’t pass this place up.

Came across this beautiful hidden gem. I was looking for quiet nestled in nature and it did not disappoint. You can feel it was created by an artist with a heart and intention for preserving our ecosystems. Very well kept. Staff was very available, supportive, and responsive. This was my favorite part of my trip to Hawaii. I would definitely go back.

Extremely disappointed. What should have been our dream vacation for my wife and I coming for the first time to Hawaii turned out in a first night nightmare!! The sheets on our bed were filled with stains and hair from all lengths. The rooms probably haven't been cleaned for days. When I asked for new sheets I received even dirtier ones. I can't believe this place is even open. People who work there are very unprofessional. I showed the guy who brought me my sheets, the only thing he could say after i showed him was that I can write in a bad review if I want... so here is my review. we left after one night and found something 10 times better for the same price .Unbelievable, don't go there unless you are a filthy animal. Don't make the same mistake I did to book lots of days, they won't give any money back. Mahalo

Terrible Experience – Tourist Trap! I booked this hostel through Hostelworld for a total of $60 — already quite pricey for a hostel. Still, I decided to give it a chance. Big mistake. Upon check-in, I was shocked to discover an additional $80 cleaning fee — more than the cost of the booking itself! This was never made clear beforehand, and if I had known, I would have never booked this place. And to make matters worse, the room was not even clean. I understand it’s a hostel and I’m not expecting luxury, but what I found was unacceptable: The bed was filthy, with bird droppings and gecko feces on the mattress and pillow. Everything looked neglected and poorly maintained. When I pointed out how dirty the bed was, the staff had the audacity to accuse me of making the mess myself. The location is the only beautiful thing but the staff were unhelpful, unfriendly, and completely lacking any understanding of what hospitality means. Do not stay here. It's a scam, plain and simple. Save your money, your time, and your sanity — avoid this place.

Absolutely awful experience at Gingerhill Farm. I was charged for two separate bookings that I had cancelled within the timeframe stated on Hostelworld — one of them weeks in advance, and another the night before arrival (which per the policy should’ve only cost me one night). Instead, I was charged for the entire stay on both. The staff were dismissive and unprofessional — I was told the place was “cheap for Hawaii” as if that excused ignoring Hostelworld’s cancellation terms. The bed was dirty, the pillow was soiled (they said to just “brush it off”), and they put a cat trap outside my tent that hissed all night, and refused to move it when I asked. I stayed for just two nights but was charged for seven. Completely unacceptable, and Hostelworld should not be working with properties like this. Still waiting for a refund. Avoid this place at all costs.

If you value sleep choose another place to stay. My friend and I booked this place after thoroughly reviewing their website. On arrival all seemed wonderful. It's in a beautiful spot, the set up was comfortable. And then at 3am their roosters started crowing and didn't stop. The chicken coop was built 25 feet from where we were sleeping. We brought our concerns to our host about not being able to sleep and were told that there are no refunds. We were also told, with a roll of the eyes, that "it's a farm". I reread the whole website and nowhere does it mention animals of any kind. It talks about a food forest, and growing their own food but no mention of animals. There are different kinds of farms. The wedsite repeatedly emphasizes rest, restoration and good sleep as values important to them. It is not unreasonable to expect there to be adequate, accurate, and honest information available on the website guests rely on to make clear decisions about their sleeping accommodations. We did leave, because sleep would not have been possible, even with the earplugs provided, white noise blasting. We did not get a refund for the four nights we didn't stay. Our interactions with the host and owner lacked any accountability or sense of responsibility to their guests. They placed the responsibility of guessing that there might be chickens next to our place of rest on us.
