Growing Change at the Table

Gingerhill’s mission is to grow the change we want to seed in the world. All of our food is a reflection of the mindful intention and attentive care of our community. As our orchards and gardens expand to include new species, so, too, does our ability to sustain ourselves and the larger community around us. Thus, in growing our own food, we also grow change in Hawaiian agriculture: the establishment of community, reconnection with nature, and food sovereignty. A meal at Gingerhill is therefore an opportunity to foster global change and support our mission. Do so while enjoying views of the ocean from the serenity of our lanai.

Ayurveda-Inspired Preparation

Inspired by ancient dietary philosophies, we grow and enjoy a large diversity of local, organic and seasonal specialties. We utilize fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs and medicinal plants from our gardens, as well as locally-sourced organic or wild proteins to maximize the nutrition and micronutrient profiles of our meals. Our ever-evolving menu reflects what the land currently has to offer.

In accordance with the holistic science of Ayurveda, we employ methods of preparation that promote healthy digestion and nutrient absorption. Our meals therefore feature an array of textures and flavors. Typical offerings include fresh greens, hearty soups, wild ferments, and delectable stir-fries.

Finally, Ayurvedic medicine emphasizes the importance of preparing food with mindfulness and love. All of our chefs participate in the nurturing of seed-to-feed, from the sowing of seed to the tending, harvesting and processing of our food.
